Carlo Ancelotti: Understanding the Challenges Faced by Vinicius Jr

Madrid, Jan 5 (NationPress) Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr once again became the focal point of controversy when he pushed Valencia goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski in the face during a match on Saturday (IST). Head coach Carlo Ancelotti expressed his understanding for the 24-year-old, acknowledging that stepping into his shoes is not an easy task.

“It wasn’t a red card; it should have been a yellow card, and we hope he avoids any matches due to this. I can only imagine how difficult it is for him. He endures a lot, including the insults, and it’s not straightforward, but he’s striving to improve. He feels remorse for the red card and has apologized, yet we must move forward,” Ancelotti stated.

“I observe what’s happening in stadiums regarding him. His conduct has significantly improved, and he’s capable of further enhancement. However, perfection is unattainable. He has been diligently working on this, and his progress is evident to the point where he is regarded as the best player globally,” Ancelotti added during a press briefing.

Ancelotti confirmed that the club intends to contest the red card issued to the Brazilian. The RFEF Disciplinary Committee will convene on Tuesday to review referee Cesar Soto Grado’s report and determine Vinicius' disciplinary action.

The team will compete against Club Deportiva Minera, currently at the top of the Tercera Division, at Cartagonova in the Copa del Rey.

Real Madrid was eliminated from the previous season's cup competition by Atletico Madrid in the Round of 16. The Italian coach emphasized that the team’s goal is to reach the finals of this tournament.

“The Copa del Rey is not a concern until elimination occurs. Once out of the Cup, it becomes an issue because Real Madrid aims to succeed in every competition. The problem arises if we exit the Copa del Rey. This competition has historically been favorable for us, and reaching the final is a thrilling experience. Our aim is to make it to the final, as is customary,” Ancelotti concluded.
