Raipur (Chhattisgarh), Feb 24 (NationPress) Several elite competitors from the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI), including Olympian Udayan Mane, are set to participate in the inaugural Chhattisgarh Open Golf Championship, marking the first PGTI event in the state. This prestigious tournament boasts a prize pool of INR 1 crore and will be hosted at the Fairway Golf & Lake Resort in Naya Raipur from February 25 to 28.

The competition will feature a total of 126 players, comprised of 123 professionals and three amateurs. The format will follow stroke-play over four rounds, each containing 18 holes. After two rounds, the top 50 players and ties will advance.

Among the notable participants are acclaimed Indian golfers Om Prakash Chouhan, Rashid Khan, Manu Gandas, Aman Raj, and Chikkarangappa S..

The event will also welcome 13 international players from seven different countries, including Bangladeshis Jamal Hossain, Badal Hossain, Md Akbar Hossain, and Md Somrat Sikdar, Sri Lankans N. Thangaraja and K. Prabagaran, Americans Koichiro Sato and Dominic Piccirillo, Nepal’s Sukra Bahadur Rai and Subash Tamang, Czech Republic’s Stepan Danek, Italy’s Federico Zucchetti, and Uganda’s Joshua Seale.

Located by the scenic 450-acre Jhanjh lake and surrounded by a lush 500-acre forest, the Fairway Golf & Lake Resort in Naya Raipur is a stunning venue for the championship.

The PGTI has organized events in 16 states, two Union Territories, and the National Capital Territory of Delhi. The SECL Chhattisgarh Open Golf Championship signifies PGTI's inaugural entry into Chhattisgarh, extending its reach to 17 states.
