Jamshedpur, Dec 24 (NationPress) The Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) has officially announced the upcoming Tata Open golf tournament, set to take place in Jamshedpur from December 25 to 28. This four-day event will unfold across the Beldih and Golmuri golf courses, with a prize purse of Rs 2 crore, marking the conclusion of the 2025 PGTI season.
The tournament will host a competitive field of 126 professional golfers who will compete in a stroke-play format over four rounds of 18 holes each. After two rounds, the top 50 players and ties will advance past the cut.
The structure of the event is as follows: In the first round, half the participants will play their 18 holes at the Beldih Golf Club, while the other half will compete at the Golmuri Golf Club. In the second round, they will switch venues, allowing an exciting dynamic for the players.
During rounds three and four, after the cut, the leading groups will tee off at Golmuri, completing their first nine holes there before moving to Beldih for the second nine.
Among the notable Indian professionals participating are the 2025 PGTI Order of Merit champion Yuvraj Sandhu, 2024 PGTI Order of Merit champion Veer Ahlawat, and other skilled golfers such as Shaurya Bhattacharya, Arjun Prasad, Manu Gandas, and more.
On the international front, the tournament will also feature prominent foreign players, including Sri Lankans N. Thangaraja and Mithun Perera (a former champion), as well as golfers from Bangladesh, the Czech Republic, the USA, Nepal, and Uganda.
Notably, former Tata Open champions like Om Prakash Chouhan, Mukesh Kumar, Shamim Khan, and Gurki Shergill will also be in attendance, with local professional Kurush Heerjee leading the home challenge.
