Key Takeaways
Jamshedpur, Dec 26 (NationPress) Yuvraj Sandhu ascended to the pinnacle of the leaderboard with an impressive eight-under 64 during Round Two of the Tata Open 2025, a prestigious INR 2 crore event that marks the finale of the PGTI season, being held at the Beldih and Golmuri golf courses in Jamshedpur.
Yuvraj (67-64), who competed at Beldih on Friday, accumulated a total of 11-under 131 at the halfway point, leading by three strokes and climbing seven spots from his overnight tied eighth position.
Having already secured the 2025 PGTI Order of Merit title, Yuvraj, a six-time champion on the PGTI this year, is now eyeing a record seventh victory on the tour.
The 21-year-old Shubham Jaglan (68-66), participating in his third PGTI event, produced a four-under 66 at Golmuri in Round Two, moving up four spots to claim second place with a total score of eight-under 134.
The halfway cut was set at two-over 144, with fifty-three professionals making the cut.
In Round One, one half of the competitors played their 18 holes at Beldih Golf Club while the other half played at Golmuri Golf Club. In Round Two, both halves exchanged venues. For the third and fourth rounds, the leading groups will play their first nine holes at Golmuri before switching to Beldih for the final nine.
Yuvraj Sandhu, who was four strokes behind the leader after Round One, achieved three consecutive birdies on the front nine. After a minor setback with a bogey on the 10th hole, he surged ahead with six straight birdies from the 11th to the 16th.
His back-nine birdies comprised two remarkable up-and-downs, two long conversions from distances of 12 to 15 feet, and two four-foot conversions.
“I felt the effects of playing back-to-back weeks until the first round on Thursday. I experienced some exhaustion. However, today, my body felt significantly better; I was able to swing freely and maintain better control, resulting in improved ball-striking,” Yuvraj remarked.
“The conditions at Beldih were a bit windy today, and I feel I excel in such conditions, having played extensively in similar weather across Asia. These conditions bring out the best in me,” he added.
