Jamshedpur, Dec 27 (NationPress) Shubham Jaglan and Yuvraj Sandhu are locked in a thrilling contest as they head into the final round of the Tata Open 2025, a prestigious INR 2 crore tournament and the concluding event of the PGTI season, taking place at the Beldih and Golmuri golf courses in Jamshedpur.

The 21-year-old Shubham Jaglan (68-66-65), who turned professional earlier this year, showcased an impressive and flawless six-under 65 on the third day, elevating him to the joint lead at 14-under 199. Based in Gurugram, Shubham, who earned a runner-up finish in his PGTI debut last month in Chandigarh, is now on the hunt for his first tour title.

Yuvraj Sandhu (67-64-68), who led the event at the halfway point by three strokes, recorded a three-under 68 in round three, ensuring he remains tied for the lead at 14-under 199. Residing in Chandigarh, Yuvraj has clinched six victories on the PGTI this year and has already secured the 2025 PGTI Order of Merit crown, guaranteeing his participation in the DP World Tour for the upcoming year. Sandhu is now striving for a record seventh title in a single PGTI season.

A significant gap exists between the top two players and the rest of the competitors, with Veer Ahlawat (65), Khalin Joshi (68), and N. Thangaraja (68) trailing by five strokes in a tie for third at nine-under 204.

During the first two rounds, half of the field played at the Beldih Golf Club, while the other half contested at Golmuri Golf Club. For the final two rounds, the leading groups will play their front-nine at Golmuri before switching to Beldih for their back-nine. The combined par for both courses is 71.

Shubham Jaglan, who started the day in second place, three shots behind, had a productive front-nine, scoring three birdies and an eagle with two seven-foot and two 15-foot conversions. On the back-nine, he secured a birdie on the 12th hole, alongside two remarkable par-saves, including a 25-footer that maintained his momentum.

“I was performing exceptionally well on my front-nine at Golmuri, but the 30-minute transit to Beldih slightly disrupted my flow, as I had never before played a round across such distant venues. Nevertheless, a couple of outstanding par-saves at Beldih boosted my confidence and helped me regain my rhythm. Today marked my first experience in the leader group at a PGTI event. The spotlight and cheers from the crowd create their own pressures, but I believe I managed that pressure well today,” Shubham expressed.

Yuvraj Sandhu made five birdies and two bogeys on Saturday, maintaining his position atop the leaderboard.

“I had a solid start at Golmuri today, though I encountered a few three-putts at Beldih. However, as I step off the course, I feel quite driven to excel in the final round since it will be the last competitive round of 2025, and I want to give it my all,” Yuvraj stated.

Manoj S. achieved a hole-in-one on the 17th during his round of 67, finishing the day tied for sixth place at eight-under 205, alongside Mohd Azhar and Amardeep Malik. Kurush Heerjee, the only professional from Jamshedpur to make the cut, ended the day tied for 51st at seven-over 220.
