Ranchi, July 7 (NationPress) Mizoram, Hockey Association of Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, and Jharkhand achieved remarkable victories in their Division ‘A’ matches, while Manipur triumphed in Division ‘B’ during the fifth day of the 15th Hockey India Sub-Junior Women's National Championship 2025 at the Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Astroturf Hockey Stadium here on Monday.
In the opening Division ‘A’ match, Mizoram overwhelmed the Hockey Association of Bihar with a score of 11-0. Hockey Mizoram's Vanlalrinhlui was a dominant force, scoring six goals (9’, 24’, 25’, 29’, 33’, 37’), including the first.
Esther Lalremruati added a second-half hat-trick (35’, 58’, 60’) after C. Lalruatsiami (11’) and K. Vanlalpeki (15’) contributed early goals, establishing a strong foundation for the victory.
In another Division ‘A’ encounter, Hockey Association of Odisha took down Hockey Punjab 3-1, with Sweety Kujur netting a hat-trick (15’, 30’, 59’). Navjot Kaur (54’) provided a glimmer of hope for Punjab with a late goal, but it was ultimately insufficient.
Nausheen Naz shone in the afternoon match, scoring seven goals (8’, 9’, 17’, 44’, 44’, 53’, 58’) as Madhya Pradesh annihilated Chandigarh 12-0.
