Visakhapatnam, March 24 (NationPress) The Delhi Capitals won the toss and opted to bowl first against the Lucknow Super Giants in the fourth match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, held at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium.
KL Rahul will not participate in today's match due to personal reasons.
“We are choosing to bowl first because of the dew factor. We aim to minimize risks, which is why we decided on this approach. I have previously played with Pant; we understand each other's game well. Our squad is well balanced,” stated Delhi Capitals captain Axar Patel during the toss.
“Dew can be a factor at times, but not all the time. I have been with DC for three years, and I am part of the leadership group. I need to think like a leader. Our overseas players include Faf du Plessis, Stubbs, Starc, and Fraser McGurk,” he added.
Lucknow Super Giants captain Rishabh Pant mentioned, “I aimed to bowl first, but the pitch looks good for batting, allowing us to set a competitive target. Having played for DC throughout my career, there are quite a few emotions involved. Our preparations have been solid, and everyone is in great shape. Our overseas players comprise Markram, Marsh, Pooran, and Miller.”
