New Delhi, March 17 (NationPress) As the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) gear up for their IPL 2025 season, captain Rishabh Pant expressed his commitment to cultivating an atmosphere where players feel free to express themselves.
LSG will kick off their IPL 2025 journey against the Delhi Capitals, a team previously led by Pant, on March 24 at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. “Our goal is to establish a space where individuals can come and express themselves. It’s a simple concept, but it’s easier said than done, as it demands significant effort from every member,” he stated.
“It’s not solely the management; I believe it’s the players who can help foster this environment. My experience as a player has shown me that when you support your teammates and trust them, they can excel at any level. Our group possesses considerable experience, and the management brings a wealth of knowledge,” Pant mentioned in a video shared on the franchise’s social media platforms.
LSG had successful runs in the IPL 2022 and 2023 seasons, reaching the playoffs, though they were eliminated in the Eliminator on both occasions. In IPL 2024, LSG ended up in seventh place on the points table. Pant, a left-handed wicketkeeper-batsman, made history as the most expensive player in IPL history when LSG signed him for INR 27 crore during last year’s mega auction.
He also encouraged senior players such as Nicholas Pooran, Aiden Markram, and David Miller to continue sharing their insights with the newer members of the team. “We have many seasoned players on the team. Nicky P is here, Makram is here, and Miller is also here. There are many more,” he noted.
“Please keep sharing your knowledge with the younger teammates, allowing that wisdom to circulate within the group. I believe there’s a lot we can learn from our experienced players. Let’s take it one day at a time, giving our all while prioritizing the team’s best interests, without worrying about whether the team will support us or not.
“We trust each individual here because they are the best in their roles. That’s why we are united. Let’s create lasting memories and foster love among each other, so when we depart, we aim to grow as players and individuals while having fun together,” Pant concluded.
