Bengaluru, Feb 25 (NationPress) The Delhi Capitals, who have reached the finals twice, won the toss and decided to field first against the Gujarat Giants in the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2025 showdown at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Tuesday.
Delhi's captain Meg Lanning endorsed her decision to bowl first, announcing that Titas Sadhu has taken the place of Arundhati Reddy in their lineup.
“We’re going to bowl first. It appears to be the trend. This choice allows our bowlers a solid opportunity to secure early wickets. We have made one change - Titas replaces Reddy. We believe this is the most effective XI for achieving victory tonight. Titas has been performing exceptionally well in practice. There are always areas for improvement, regardless of the outcome,” she explained during the toss.
Conversely, the Gujarat team implemented two changes to their roster for the match.
“It has been a productive week to regroup. After playing three matches in quick succession, we had the opportunity to recharge and engage in a thorough training block. We are aware that conditions in Bangalore differ significantly from Vadodara, with much more bounce expected here. Adapting quickly is crucial. As a captain, remaining composed and making sound decisions is key. We’ve made two changes - Phoebe Litchfield and Meghna Singh join the squad,” remarked GG captain Ashleigh Gardner.
