Bengaluru, Feb 24 (NationPress) As the Delhi Capitals prepare to face the Gujarat Giants in their upcoming WPL 2025 match at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Tuesday, head coach Jonathan Batty emphasized that the team is fully prepared and aims for victory in every match.

In their last encounter, Delhi suffered a loss against UP Warrioz by 33 runs, marking their second defeat in four outings. Batty pointed out the areas needing enhancement, stating that the team is diligently working to correct their errors.

Reflecting on the previous game, Batty remarked, “We had a thorough review of our last performance, where I believe we bowled commendably for the initial 16-17 overs of the opponent’s innings but conceded some extras, which we are actively seeking to improve. We have made notable strides in our bowling lengths, and our consistency has improved significantly.”

With two wins and two losses from their four matches so far, Delhi Capitals currently hold the third position on the points table. Commenting on the team's performance, Batty noted, “We have showcased some excellent cricket recently. The only issue has been our inability to close out a couple of games. Moving ahead, we aim to tighten our fundamentals, maintain high confidence, and approach every match with a winning mindset.”

Regarding the upcoming clash against Gujarat Giants, Batty stated, “Every team is quite formidable, including Gujarat.”

“They possess a mix of quality international and domestic players. Their bowling attack will likely feature more spin compared to what we have faced so far. Additionally, they have some dangerous batsmen, but we will focus on playing to our strengths,” he concluded.

Currently, Delhi sits in third place on the points table, while Gujarat finds themselves at the bottom with just two points from three games.
