Diksha Dagar leads India's 6-strong Czech Ladies Open charge at Beroun
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Diksha Dagar, the 2023 Tipsport Czech Ladies Open champion, headlines a six-member Indian contingent at Beroun Golf Club this week as the Ladies European Tour (LET) circuit moves to the Czech Republic for the 2026 edition of the tournament. The Indian challenge arrives in strong form, with three of the six players having posted top-five finishes at last week's Dutch Ladies Open.
India's Form Heading Into Beroun
Diksha and Avani Prashanth shared third place at the Dutch Ladies Open, while Pranavi Urs finished tied fifth — a back-to-back top-10 cluster that underlines India's growing footprint on the LET. Hitaashee Bakshi, Vani Kapoor, and Ridhima Dilawari complete the squad, making it one of the strongest Indian representations at a European event this season.
This comes amid a broader surge in Indian women's golf internationally, with multiple players now holding consistent LET cards and competing deep into contention week after week.
Diksha's Return to a Favourite Venue
For the 25-year-old left-hander, Beroun is more than just another stop. Diksha captured the Czech Ladies Open title here in 2023 and recently marked her 150th LET appearance — a milestone that reflects the consistency she has built since joining the tour in 2019. She currently sits 11th on the Order of Merit, backed by four top-10 finishes this season.
'I'm a much better player than I was when I won here because the learning process continues, and it's all about hard work,' she said. 'Coming back here brings back amazing memories. It reminds me of which holes I played well and where I made birdies.'
Diksha is confident heading into the 54-hole event. 'I'm feeling pretty confident. I'm playing really good golf, and I'm looking forward to playing this golf course again. I won here before, so I'll try to continue my form and see how it unfolds. Hopefully, I can win this again,' she added. She also praised the course itself: 'The 18th hole is such a signature hole because you get to see the town of Beroun and all the houses. It's a beautiful city.'
Avani and Pranavi Building Momentum
Avani Prashanth enters the week on the back of a career-best tied-third finish at the Dutch Ladies Open, following a tied-fifth at the Jabra Ladies Open in France. Her steady climb has strengthened expectations that a maiden LET title could be within reach. Pranavi Urs, a Hero brand ambassador, recorded her first top-10 finish of the season last week and will be looking to build on that breakthrough result in Beroun.
The Wider Indian Challenge
Hitaashee Bakshi arrives seeking a return to form after a difficult run — she has missed the cut in five of her last six LET starts, though her tied-ninth at the Australian WPGA Championship earlier this year showed her capability. Vani Kapoor, one of India's most decorated domestic players, earned her place via a sponsor invitation and recorded two top-10 finishes on the LET in 2025, including a tied-sixth at the Amundi German Masters. Ridhima Dilawari makes her first LET appearance of the 2026 season and will be eager to make an immediate mark.
The Field and What's at Stake
Diksha is one of only three former champions in the field. Home favourite Jana Melichova, the 2022 winner, and Spain's Marta Martin, who triumphed in 2024, are the other past champions competing. With India holding three of the six past-champion slots and arriving with a momentum-filled week behind them, all eyes will be on whether Diksha can add a second Czech Ladies Open title to her name.
