Joburg, April 3 (NationPress) Diksha Dagar makes her return to the nation where she secured her first Ladies European Tour (LET) victory, as she prepares to compete in the initial of two South African events on the tour. In 2019, Diksha clinched the South African Open, marking her inaugural LET triumph. Following the Joburg Open, the South African Women’s Open will take place.

Diksha has enjoyed a solid season thus far, finishing as the runner-up at the Lalla Meryem Cup and placing T-11 at the New South Wales Open. A former multiple champion on her home circuit, the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour, she currently stands fifth in the Order of Merit.

Joining her are fellow Indians Pranavi Urs, who secured a T-14 finish in New South Wales, rookie Avani Prashanth, who has successfully made the cut in all three of her LET appearances with T-16 at the Lalla Meryem Cup in Morocco, T-13 in the Women’s Classic in Australia, and T-36 at the NSW event, as well as Tvesa Malik, who boasts a previous win on the Sunshine Ladies Tour.

Defending champion Chiara Tamburlini returns to Johannesburg, aiming to recreate what was a significant moment in her 2024 season.

The Modderfontein Golf Course, hosting the tournament for the fourth consecutive year, is renowned for its challenging layout, characterized by its numerous water hazards that appear on over half of the holes.

This week features a competitive field of 132 players, including 38 LET winners with a cumulative total of 66 LET victories. Notably, Cara Gainer from England leads the Order of Merit following four tournaments in the LET 2025 season.

The 72-hole stroke-play event will see a cut to the top 60 professionals and ties after 36 holes.
