Equestrian Excellence: Anupati and Raju Shine in Show Jumping and Dressage at Junior Nationals

New Delhi, Dec 25 (NationPress) Young equestrians Anupati Navyashree Sai and Raju Singh stood out as the top riders in the show jumping and dressage events, respectively, during the concluding day of the initial segment of the Junior National Equestrian Championships.

In the young rider division, Anupati, riding Abra ka Dabra, achieved an impressive score of 32.60 without any penalties in the two-phase show jumping event. She surpassed competitors Avik Bhatia, Geetika Tikkishetty, and Monu Kumar to claim the top spot.

Meanwhile, in the dressage freestyle, Raju performed exceptionally well aboard Louk, garnering 65.18 marks in a fiercely competitive event where Javeer Verma, Geetika, and Navyashree closely followed him.

“It is incredibly gratifying to witness the remarkable talent emerging in this junior championship. It instills hope and confidence in the Equestrian Federation of India that the sport will advance rapidly in our country. The competition across nearly all categories was intense, with only a slim margin distinguishing the winners from other participants,” remarked EFI Secretary General Jaiveer Singh.

In the children’s dressage segment, Subh Chowdhri, riding Furstentanz, outperformed Pranav Deepak, Punnet Jakhar, and Jaiwant Nawle to seize victory, while in the children’s show jumping event, Mogil Anbu triumphed over Divyaraj Singh Rathore, Sresh Raju Mantena, and Eera Shree Harsha.

Additionally, in the Children I category, Jaiveer Singh Nagra earned the title of Best Rider for his consistent and outstanding performances throughout the competition, solidifying his reputation as one of the most promising young talents in Indian equestrian sports.

Sahil, riding Candy, scored 93.5 points to clinch victory in the overall individual tent pegging event, finishing ahead of Mohammad Alhamad Chishty (80), Shahrukh Khan (79), and Adeel Ahkter (76).

The action of the Junior National Equestrian Championships will continue on December 27 with events catering to the Junior (ages 14-18) and Children II (ages 10-12) categories.

“I am confident that the second half of the Championship will yield thrilling competitions, culminating on December 29,” the EFI Secretary General added.
