New Delhi, Sep 19 (NationPress) With the announcement of the second season of the Big Cricket League (BCL), the world's first pro-am cricket league, starting on January 16, 2026, league commissioner Dilip Vengsarkar anticipates an even stronger pool of talent, promising a more thrilling experience for cricket enthusiasts nationwide.

Building upon its solid foundation, Season 2 will introduce more international players, enhanced entertainment, and broader broadcast and digital accessibility, reaching millions of homes across India.

The talent search for Season 2 is already in full swing across various Indian cities, drawing promising players eager to showcase their skills and secure a place in the upcoming season.

Season 1 showcased over 60 aspiring cricketers from across India, who were discovered through BCL's nationwide talent quest. Many of these players, who had never before participated in a professional cricketing setting, had the chance to share the field with international stars, delivering unforgettable performances that captivated fans.

The league's unique Pro-Am format—bringing together professionals and amateurs as teammates—struck a chord with fans, resulting in record viewership and significant digital engagement.

The inaugural season of the BCL wrapped up on December 22, 2024, after 10 exhilarating matchdays featuring 18 thrilling T20 matches at the Lalbhai Contractor Stadium in Surat. The league, comprising six competitive franchises, united some of India’s most celebrated cricket legends with exceptional local talents.

The Mumbai Marines, led by Irfan Pathan, were crowned champions, defeating teams filled with international stars such as Shikhar Dhawan, Suresh Raina, and other seasoned players.
