New Delhi, Dec 9 (NationPress) Helmut Marko, the motorsport advisor for Red Bull, is poised to conclude his tenure with the Formula 1 organization at the end of 2025.
The Austrian will exit Red Bull after 20 remarkable years, during which he guided the team to six Teams' championships and eight Drivers' championships.
Marko has played a pivotal role in advising the company on driver promotions to Formula 1 through Racing Bulls and later Red Bull, and he has been a cornerstone of the Red Bull Junior Program.
Team Principal Laurent Mekies expressed, "It’s disheartening news that Helmut is departing. His contributions have been vital to our team and the entire Red Bull motorsport initiative for over two decades."
Throughout his two-decade journey with the organization, Marko has overseen the advancement of twenty drivers to Formula 1, most notably Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen, who collectively secured eight world titles while driving for Red Bull.
Marko's departure is set to follow just six months after Team Principal Christian Horner left the team.
"This marks the conclusion of an exceptionally successful era. His absence will be felt significantly, and we will truly miss him," Mekies added.
Marko himself commented, "I have been engaged in motorsport for six decades now, and the past 20-plus years at Red Bull have been an incredible and extremely fruitful journey. I take immense pride in everything we have accomplished together."
He further shared, "Missing out on the World Championship this season has profoundly affected me and clarified that it’s the right time for me to close this long, intense, and successful chapter. I wish the entire team ongoing success and am confident they will contend for both world championship titles again next year."
