Cape Town, April 12 (NationPress) Four out of five Indian female golfers successfully made the cut at the Investec SA Women’s Open golf championship this Saturday. Leading the charge was Mysuru’s Pranavi Urs, who delivered an impressive round of 5-under 67, climbing to Tied-16th from Tied-68 the previous day. With her first-round score of 72, Pranavi now stands at 5-under for two rounds, trailing Chiara Tamburlini of Switzerland by six strokes (68-65).

Tvesa Malik (70-71) is positioned at T-34, while Avani Prashanth (68-74) sits at T-44, and Diksha Dagar (72-71) also made the cut. Unfortunately, Rhea Purvi (72-75) did not qualify.

The cut line was established at one-under par, with 70 players advancing to the final two days of the tournament.

Tamburlini shot a remarkable 65 (-7) to secure a one-shot lead at the halfway point. She began the day three shots behind in T-10 but played a bogey-free second round.

Pranavi, a former multiple champion on the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour, recorded five birdies without any bogeys, scoring on the fourth, fifth, seventh, 13th, and 16th holes. Tvesa managed three birdies on the eighth, 14th, and 16th but had setbacks on the 12th and 15th holes. Avani made an eagle on the Par-4 fourth hole, added two birdies, but faced four bogeys and a double bogey in her 74 yet still made the cut.

This marks her fourth cut made in five tournaments this season, with the only miss occurring last week in Joburg.

Tamburlini is being closely followed by Perrine Delacour from France, the overnight leader, who remarkably stayed bogey-free through 35 holes before dropping her sole shot of the tournament on the last hole. Aline Krauter from Germany was also tied with Delacour on eight-under-par after 36 holes.
