Melbourne, Jan 24 (NationPress) Adam Griffith has been named the new national pace bowling coach for Cricket Australia. The former cricketer from Tasmania will collaborate with the nation's men's teams, concentrating on the growth and training of pace bowlers, as announced by Cricket Australia (CA) on Friday.
Griffith is making a shift to this position from his role as assistant coach for Victoria. Operating from CA's National Cricket Centre in Brisbane, he will handle various duties, including leading the national strategy for pace bowler development, overseeing the readiness of national pacers, assisting both the Australian men’s and Australia A men’s teams, and mentoring pace bowling coaches.
Andrew McDonald, head coach of the Australian men’s team, expressed his enthusiasm for Griffith’s appointment, saying, "I’m thrilled Adam will contribute his extensive experience to Cricket Australia as the National Pace Bowling Coach and become a crucial part of our coaching setup. Adam's proficiency across all formats will be essential in preparing pace bowlers for Australia’s national men’s teams."
Griffith brings a significant amount of coaching expertise at the elite level. His previous roles include senior assistant coach for Western Australia and the Perth Scorchers, Director of Coaching for Tasmania, and head coach for both the Tasmania Tigers and Hobart Hurricanes.
Moreover, he served as an assistant coach (bowling) for Royal Challengers Bengaluru during the IPL 2024 season.
