Harry Redknapp Critiques West Ham's Treatment of Julen Lopetegui

New Delhi, Jan 8 (NationPress) In light of ongoing rumors that West Ham head coach Julen Lopetegui might soon be let go, former West Ham manager Harry Redknapp has described the treatment of the Spaniard by the club as disrespectful.
The Hammers have called off a scheduled press conference with Lopetegui, casting further doubt on the 58-year-old's future with the team. He was set to address the media on Wednesday, ahead of the FA Cup third-round match against Aston Villa on Friday.
Currently, West Ham is in talks with former managers Graham Potter of Brighton and Chelsea fame regarding a potential temporary position.
Redknapp remarked, "It's disrespectful (from West Ham) no doubt about that. If you want to part ways with him, you should directly communicate and say, 'I'm sorry, it hasn't worked out.' Clearly, discussions have been taking place with Graham Potter, who appears to be the primary target."
He continued, "However, managing West Ham is certainly challenging. The expectations are exceedingly high. Hence, anyone stepping into that role must not only deliver a winning team but also ensure they play in a manner that resonates with the fans' vision of the 'West Ham way'," as stated by Redknapp to BBC Sport.
Additionally, West Ham has reached out to former managers Paulo Fonseca of AC Milan and Christophe Galtier, who has prior experience with Paris Saint-Germain and is currently coaching in the Saudi Pro League.
West Ham United appointed Lopetegui as the new head coach in May. His coaching pedigree includes notable roles with Spain, Porto, Real Madrid, Sevilla, and Wolverhampton Wanderers. He led Sevilla to triumph in the UEFA Europa League and achieved UEFA European Championship victories with Spain’s U21s and U19s.
As of now, West Ham sits at 14th place in the Premier League standings, having recorded six wins, five draws, and nine losses from their 20 matches.
