Johannesburg (South Africa), Dec 26 (NationPress) The trophy of the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 has successfully concluded an eight-day tour across South Africa, igniting enthusiasm among cricket aficionados and building anticipation for the forthcoming ninth edition of the tournament, which is set to take place in Pakistan and the UAE from February 19 to March 9, 2025.

The prestigious trophy was showcased at key sites throughout the Western Cape and Gauteng provinces, engaging local fans and communities with a variety of activities from December 15 to 22.

The journey commenced in Cape Town with a visit to the historic Robben Island. Supporters in Camps Bay and Blouberg Beach were thrilled to get a close-up look at the trophy, and the launch of a youth cricket tournament provided an inspiring platform for aspiring players to showcase their talents. The trophy was also prominently displayed during three One Day Internationals between South Africa and Pakistan. In Paarl, the atmosphere was electrified by the presence of South African captain Temba Bavuma and Pakistan captain Mohammad Rizwan.

The tour then proceeded to Gauteng, where the Alexandra Cricket Stadium offered avenues for connection with local communities and inspiration for HUB and Mini-Cricket participants.

In Johannesburg, fans had the opportunity to interact with South African pacer Lungi Ngidi before the tour concluded at the DP World Wanderers Stadium. The tour celebrated the fervor for cricket throughout South Africa, featuring appearances at stadiums, malls, and community events.

The ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 Trophy Tour will continue with all eight participating nations, having already visited Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and South Africa, with Australia as its next destination.
