ILT20 Season 3: 12 Players from UAE Including Parashar, Lakra, and Farhan Khan Selected

Dubai, Dec 4 (NationPress) Indian-origin talent Dhruv Parashar, Aryan Lakra, and Rohan Mustafa were among the 12 players representing the United Arab Emirates (UAE) who were chosen by franchises ahead of the third season of the International League T20 (ILT20) held here on Wednesday.

The franchises selected three of the most promising UAE players, including Ethan D'Souza, Aryan Lakra, and Dhruv Parashar, during the Player Selection Process for UAE players, which took place on Wednesday in Dubai. Season 3 of the ILT20 is scheduled to run from January 11 to February 9, 2025.

The left-handed batsman D'Souza will play for the Sharjah Warriorz, while Parashar and Lakra will join the Desert Vipers and MI Emirates teams respectively. Recently, Dhruv Parashar showcased his skills for the Desert Vipers Development at the DP World ILT20 Development Tournament 2024, where he took five wickets. Meanwhile, Aryan Lakra played for the Gujarat Giants Development, scoring 85 runs and a vital half-century.

The Abu Dhabi Knight Riders have recruited Shahid Iqbal Bhutta and Ibrar Ahmed, both of whom made a mark during the ILT20 Development Tournament 2024. Bhutta played for the ILT20 Pearls, taking six wickets in seven innings, while Ibrar Ahmed claimed six wickets in just four appearances for Dubai Capitals Development.

Khuzaima Bin Tanveer, who participated in the Desert Vipers Development, will advance to the main Vipers squad alongside Parashar. The Dubai Capitals opted for Farhan Khan and Zeeshan Naseer, relying on their impressive performances with the ball in the Development Tournament, where they secured 8 and 10 wickets respectively.

Additionally, the Season 1 champion Gulf Giants have included Muhammad Saghir Khan following his stellar display for the Gulf Giants Development and Muhammad Uzair Khan, who was the top wicket-taker with 16 wickets for the ILT20 Pearls in the ILT20 Development Tournament 2024.

The defending champions MI Emirates have re-signed veteran UAE pacer Zahoor Khan, after his participation with the ILT20 Pearls in the Development Tournament 2024, where he recorded five wickets in five matches, with Lakra also being selected.

Former UAE captain Rohan Mustafa will play for the Warriorz alongside fellow left-hander Ethan D'Souza. Rohan Mustafa aims to maintain his strong form from the ILT20 Pearls during the Development Tournament 2024, where he scored 149 runs in seven innings.

With the UAE Player Selection Process now complete, the six teams for ILT20 Season 3 are officially established. Teams will have the chance to name replacements if players withdraw before or during the event.
