Unnati triumphed over local player Hung Yi-Ting with a score of 21-8, 19-21, 21-19 in a thrilling 52-minute match, earning her place against the top-seed Tomoka Miyazaki from Japan in the next round.
Ayush, showcasing resilience, came back from a game down to defeat the seventh seed Brian Yang, marking his second significant upset in the tournament after previously overcoming the third seed Lee Chia Hao. His quarterfinal match ended with a score of 21-8, 19-21, 21-19.
In earlier rounds, Ayush had also knocked out fellow Indian and former World No. 1 Kidambi Srikanth in a fierce battle, winning 21-16, 15-21, 21-17 over 61 minutes.
