Mumbai, March 28 (NationPress) The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has revealed that Match No. 19 of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, featuring Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), will be postponed from its original date of Sunday, April 6, at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

This adjustment comes at the request of Kolkata Police to the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) regarding the need for personnel deployment across the city during the Ram Navami celebrations. Consequently, the match has been moved to Tuesday, April 8, 2025, slated for an afternoon start at 3:30 PM IST. The remainder of the schedule remains intact.

April 6 will now feature a single-header match day, with Sunrisers Hyderabad taking on Gujarat Titans at 7:30 PM (Match No. 20) as initially planned. The double-header on Tuesday, April 8, will see the KKR vs. LSG match in the afternoon in Kolkata, followed by Punjab Kings facing Chennai Super Kings (Match No. 22) in New Chandigarh later in the evening, as per the original timetable.

Both Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants have had a rocky start to the 2025 season. After succumbing to the Royal Challengers Bengaluru by seven wickets at the Eden Gardens, the defending champions bounced back with a six-wicket victory over Rajasthan Royals in Guwahati.

The Lucknow Super Giants also faced defeat in their opening match, thanks to Ashutosh Sharma’s outstanding performance in a thrilling chase of 210, which saw Delhi Capitals win by one wicket. They later dominated Sunrisers Hyderabad in their second encounter at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, successfully chasing down 191 runs with 23 balls remaining.
