New Delhi, April 13 (NationPress) The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has revealed that the schedule for IPL 2026 matches between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has been altered due to municipal corporation elections taking place in Ahmedabad and various other parts of Gujarat on April 26.
In addition to Ahmedabad, elections will also occur in Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Jamnagar, Karamsad-Anand, Gandhidham, Nadiad, Navsari, Porbandar, Mehsana, Morbi, Vapi, and Surendranagar. The counting of the votes is scheduled for April 28.
According to the updated schedule released by BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia, the afternoon matchup between GT and CSK was initially planned for the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on April 26. It will now be held on that same date at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
The clash will maintain its original start time of 3:30 PM IST. As a result, the return fixture, which was set to occur in the evening in Chennai on May 21, will now take place in Ahmedabad, retaining the original start time of 7:30 PM IST.
Currently, the remainder of the IPL 2026 timetable remains intact as the league approaches its pivotal mid-season juncture. The five-time champions CSK, under the leadership of Ruturaj Gaikwad, will face off against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Chennai on Tuesday night, following an initial victory over Delhi Capitals (DC) by 23 runs.
Led by India's Test and ODI captain Shubman Gill, GT has accumulated four points from four matches and holds the fifth position in the points standings. The IPL 2022 champions will be back in action against KKR in Ahmedabad on Friday.
