Ipswich, Jan 16 (NationPress) Ipswich Town has officially signed Jaden Philogene, a winger from Aston Villa, on a four-and-a-half-year contract, according to the Premier League club's announcement.

The 22-year-old player represents the club's second signing in the January transfer window, following the loan acquisition of Ben Godfrey from Atalanta.

Philogene expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "I’m thrilled to be here and I recognize the quality within the squad. I aim to play as much as I can. As a player, I enjoy dribbling, linking up play, and contributing with goals and assists. I’m eager to get started," as stated on the club's website.

The young winger has made 11 appearances in the Premier League this season. A product of the Villa youth academy, he previously had loan stints at Stoke City and Cardiff City before securing a permanent move to Hull City in the summer of 2023.

While at Hull, Philogene netted 12 goals and provided 6 assists in 32 matches, including a remarkable Rabona finish that earned a nomination for a Puskas Award.

In July 2024, he returned to Aston Villa, where he made his Champions League debut in October against Bayern Munich at Villa Park.

On the international stage, the London native has played for England at youth levels, notably scoring a hat-trick in his U19 debut in 2020, and has represented the U21s seven times.

Philogene adds depth to Ipswich’s attacking lineup, which already includes wingers Omari Hutchinson, Jack Clarke, and Chiedozie Ogbene, the latter of whom is sidelined for the rest of the season due to an Achilles injury sustained in October.

Next, Ipswich will face Brighton & Hove Albion in their upcoming league match on Thursday.
