Greater Noida, Nov 19 (NationPress) World Champion Jaismine Lamboria (57kg) showcased an exceptional performance, advancing to the final of the World Boxing Cup Finals 2025 by decisively defeating Kazakhstan’s Ulzhan Sarsenbek, a former gold medalist at the Asian Youth Championships, with a perfect score of 5:0 at the Shaheed Vijay Singh Pathik Sports Complex in Greater Noida on Wednesday.

Alongside Jaismine, a talented group of Indian boxers, including Jadumani Singh and Pawan Bartwal, also earned their spots in the finals after securing unanimous victories against their respective opponents.

Demonstrating confidence and control, Jaismine asserted her dominance early with a series of fluid combinations, while maintaining a robust defensive strategy through blocks and slips. She skillfully weathered a late surge from her opponent in the third round, securing her flawless victory. The World Boxing Championships 2025 gold medalist is set to face a thrilling title bout against Wu-Shih Yi of Chinese Taipei, a decorated medalist from the Paris Olympics.

India’s momentum continued with impressive performances from Pawan (55kg) and Jadumani (50kg), who both achieved remarkable wins. Pawan, buoyed by his earlier triumph, rallied from a close start to dominate England’s Ellis Trowbridge through two rounds of speed and precision, ultimately winning 5:0. Jadumani applied relentless pressure against Australia’s Omer Izaz, an Astana World Cup medalist, utilizing sharp hooks and clever footwork to keep his taller opponent on the defensive.

Earlier, Jugnoo (85kg) faced elimination after a 5:0 defeat, while Neeraj Phogat (65kg) put forth a valiant effort against Olympic medalist Chen Nien-Chin, narrowly losing by a 3:2 split decision.

A total of 10 Indian boxers are set to compete in the finals on Thursday, following the results of session 6; this number may increase with four more scheduled in session 7. Preeti (54kg) is set for a high-stakes match against Italy’s Sirine Carrabi, the 2023 World Championships silver medalist and 2025 world bronze medalist. Additionally, Minakshi (48kg) is set to take on Ukraine’s Fozilona Farzova. In the 63kg division, Parveen will face Japan’s Ayaka Taguchi, a proven competitor in major tournaments.

Following her victory over Leonie Muller, Arundhati Choudhary (70kg) will meet Uzbekistan’s Aziza Zokirova, a 2022 Asian Youth champion and 2024 Asian silver medallist, in the final. Nupur (80+kg) will go up against Uzbekistan’s Sotimboeva Oltinoy, while Pooja (80kg) faces a formidable challenge against Poland’s Agata Kaczmarska, the current World Champion in the +80kg category.

In the men’s finals, Ankush Phangal (80kg) is set for a thrilling showdown against England’s Shittu Oladimeji, the 2024 World Boxing Cup Champion. Narender Berwal (90+kg) will take on Uzbekistan’s undefeated knockout artist Khalimjon Mamasoliev, while Abhinash Jamwal (60kg) will meet Japan’s Shion Nishiyama, a seasoned competitor with extensive experience in World Cups and Olympic qualifiers.
