New Delhi, May 9 (NationPress) Just a month after Yashasvi Jaiswal made an unexpected move from Mumbai to Goa for the 2025/26 domestic season, the left-handed opener has reached out to the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) expressing his desire to remain with the 42-time Ranji Trophy champions.
In April, Jaiswal received a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from the MCA, allowing him to join Goa. However, recent developments indicate that he is reconsidering that decision.
“I, the undersigned, kindly request your good self to consider my appeal to revoke the NOC previously granted to me. I had some family plans to relocate to Goa, which have now been canceled. Therefore, I earnestly request the MCA to permit me to play for Mumbai this season. I have not submitted the NOC to the BCCI or the Goa Cricket Association,” Jaiswal stated in his email to the MCA.
The MCA is currently deliberating on Jaiswal’s request. “Yes, he has sent a letter indicating that he wishes to continue with the Mumbai team for the upcoming season. His letter will be discussed in the next Apex Council meeting scheduled within 15 days,” confirmed Hadap to IANS on Friday.
Since making his senior debut for Mumbai in 2019, Jaiswal has played 36 first-class matches, accumulating an impressive 3712 runs at a remarkable average of 60.85. During the 2021/22 Ranji Trophy season, he scored three consecutive centuries, aiding Mumbai in reaching the finals.
He has also scored 1526 runs in 33 List A games with an average of 52.62, which includes a double century. At just 23 years old, Jaiswal has tallied 473 runs in 12 matches for the Rajasthan Royals (RR), boasting an average of 43 and a strike rate of 154.57, which features five half-centuries.
