What does Jalaj Saxena's joining Maharashtra mean for the 2025/26 domestic season?

Pune, Sep 13 (NationPress) Jalaj Saxena, a seasoned off-spin bowling all-rounder, has officially signed with Maharashtra as they prepare for the upcoming 2025/26 domestic cricket season. After a notable nine-year tenure with Kerala in domestic cricket, Saxena is ready for this new chapter.

He was presented with his Maharashtra team jersey by Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) President Rohit Pawar, along with Director of Cricket Shaun Williams and CEO Ajinkya Joshi.

Saxena is regarded as one of India’s most skilled and versatile all-rounders in domestic cricket, having scored over 9,000 runs and taken more than 600 wickets, showcasing his extraordinary all-round skills.

“Joining the Maharashtra cricket team is a significant honor for me. The legacy of Maharashtra cricket is remarkable, and I am eager to give my utmost for the team. Playing alongside talents like Ruturaj Gaikwad, Prithvi Shaw, and Ankit Bawne, as well as many promising newcomers, is a privilege,” Saxena expressed.

Importantly, Saxena has scored over 6,000 runs and taken more than 400 wickets in the Ranji Trophy, making him the first player in its history to accomplish such a significant milestone.
