New Delhi, Aug 11 (NationPress) Brazilian forward Joao Pedro, who recently joined Chelsea, expressed his aspirations of securing titles with the renowned club. Chelsea acquired the 23-year-old from Brighton and Hove Albion on a long-term contract extending to 2033.
"Upon joining Chelsea, there’s only one objective: to claim titles. Every tournament signifies Chelsea’s representation, and my aim is to win. That’s my ambition—achieving titles with Chelsea," Pedro shared during an interview on JioHotstar.
Elaborating on his decision to join Chelsea, he stated, "The club’s rich history influenced my choice. Growing up in Brazil, I witnessed countless fans supporting Chelsea, and I was one of those youngsters. Chelsea has had exceptional players in the past and continues to have remarkable talent now. It’s a prestigious club, which is why I decided to join."
The adaptable forward also mentioned his discussions with Chelsea legend David Luiz, saying, "I’m somewhat close to David Luiz. We talked about Chelsea, my career, and ways to enhance my development, and he has been incredibly supportive."
Joao brings valuable experience, having represented Brazil internationally with three caps.
"I consider myself a technical player who enjoys scoring goals. In my youth, I also played in midfield, allowing me to deliver excellent passes to my teammates. Overall, I’d describe myself as a quality, technical player," he noted.
Pedro concluded by highlighting how his experiences in the Premier League and Europe have contributed to his growth.
"An extended period in one league aids a player’s adaptation. Transitioning from my previous club to Chelsea is simpler since it’s the same league, just different teammates. Once I start training with my new colleagues, I believe it will be advantageous. Playing in the same league already facilitates my integration," Pedro wrapped up.
