Rajkot, Dec 29 (NationPress) Wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel delivered a stunning performance, scoring an unbeaten 160 runs off just 101 balls to propel Uttar Pradesh to a decisive 54-run win against Baroda in their Vijay Hazare Trophy Elite Group B match at the Sanosara Cricket Ground 'A' on Monday.

Jurel's explosive innings included 15 boundaries and eight sixes, leading UP to an impressive total of 369/7 before Baroda was bowled out for 315, despite solid contributions from Krunal Pandya and Shashwat Rawat, who both scored fifties, on the final ball of the match. This victory secured four points for UP, bringing their total to 12 after three games.

After opener Aryan Juyal was dismissed for 26, Jurel, batting at number three, reached his first List A century in just 78 balls, tearing apart the Baroda bowling attack. He particularly dominated pacer Rasikh Salam, scoring 55 runs off just 14 balls.

Jurel formed a pivotal 131-run partnership for the fourth wicket with Rinku Singh, who added 63 runs off 67 balls. Jurel's form has been remarkable throughout the tournament, as he had already scored half-centuries against both Hyderabad and Chandigarh.

In another thrilling match, Sibsankar Roy's magnificent century led Assam to a remarkable four-wicket victory over Hyderabad at the Niranjan Shah Stadium Ground 'C'. Roy scored 112 off 109 balls, hitting 11 fours and a six, while partnering with young opener Saurav Dihingia, who made 91 off 112 deliveries.

Denish Das provided a crucial late surge with 54 runs off 46 balls, helping Assam chase down the target of 312 in a thrilling finish. Hyderabad's innings began solidly with openers Tanmay Agarwal and Rahul Singh Gahlaut, the latter top-scoring with 79 off 71 balls, including 14 fours.

Abhirath Reddy contributed 54 off 66 balls, while Varun Goud added 42, and a late flurry from K. Nitesh Reddy, who smashed 53 off just 25 balls, allowed Hyderabad to post 309, which proved insufficient to prevent Assam from achieving a remarkable victory.

Additionally, Mukesh Kumar's first five-wicket haul in List A, combined with Abishek Porel's impressive 106 and Shahbaz Ahmed's all-round performance, led Bengal to a six-wicket triumph over Chandigarh.
