Chennai, April 26 (NationPress) Current national champion Karna Kadur and co-driver Musa Sherif showcased their exceptional skills by dominating four out of five special stages today in the FIA Asia Pacific Rally Championship (APRC) India Round, taking place at the Madras International Circuit.
Kadur and Sherif, representing Arka Motorsports, extended their lead over defending APRC champions and teammates Harkrishan Wadia and Kunal Kashyap. They excelled in the first stage of the day, the short 4.9 km Special Stage (SS) 3, and followed it up with the fastest time in the 19.2 km SS2.
Despite losing 5.9 seconds in SS3, it didn’t significantly affect their performance as Kadur accelerated in the final two stages, the Avisa stage and the Track stage, to secure the top position on the leaderboard on the second last day of the event.
Wadia and Kashyap concluded the day in second place, while two-time National champion Amittrajit Ghosh and co-driver Ashwin Naik, also from Arka Motorsports, claimed third place. Ghosh faced challenges with the fuel pump but managed to recover from a sixth-place position to finish strong at third. Notably, all top four positions on the leaderboard are held by Arka Motorsports drivers.
The APRC will conclude tomorrow with five additional special stages, where the champion will be determined.
