New Delhi, March 18 (NationPress) Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Dr Mansukh Mandaviya officially launched the Khelo India Para Games 2025 anthem at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium complex on Tuesday. The second edition of the para games is set to take place across three venues in the capital from March 20-27.

Unveiled during the Fit India Carnival, the mascot for the Khelo India Para Games, named ‘Ujjwala’, was introduced by the Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, Raksha Nikhil Khadse. The design of ‘Ujjwala’ draws inspiration from the house sparrow of Delhi, symbolizing the pride and fighting spirit of the city. Just as the sparrow faced the brink of extinction, ‘Ujjwala’ embodies the para-athletes, representing resilience and perseverance.

Amid enthusiastic celebrations, the logo of the Games was jointly launched by the president of the Paralympic Committee of India and former Paralympian Devendra Jhajharia, along with Sminu Jindal, the founder chairperson of Svayam, the accessibility partner for the Khelo India Para Games 2025.

“This is a very special day. We conclude the inaugural Fit India carnival with participation from 25,000 individuals, and now we commence the Khelo India Para Games. This establishes continuity within India's sporting ecosystem. It serves as a great inspiration to all athletes,” stated Dr Mandaviya.

“KIPG will witness the participation of over 1300 athletes. This is no small achievement. The Games have been designed to pave the way for talent development. In sports, there are no losers; there are those who win and those who learn. That’s the essence of sports,” he added.

The logo of the Khelo India Para Games 2025 showcases a dynamic athlete in vibrant hues of orange, green, and blue, representing movement, inclusivity, and progress. The bold blue and white text of ‘Khelo India’ and ‘Para Games 2025’ exudes strength, enhanced by orange accents.

The bottom graphic illustrates iconic landmarks of Delhi, including the new parliament building, Bharat Mandapam, and the Delhi Metro, symbolizing the city’s lifeline, alongside para-athletes in action. The bilingual tagline ‘Champions Beyond Limits’ and ‘Haunslon ki Udaan’ powerfully encapsulates the resilience of para-athletes who transcend boundaries.

The anthem was also revealed, echoing the words “khelega khelega mera India, jeetega jeetega mera India,” aiming to motivate athletes and energize fans with its inspiring message.

The KIPG 2025 is scheduled to occur from March 20 to March 27 and will include competitions across six para sports disciplines: para-archery, para-athletics, para-badminton, para powerlifting, para shooting, and para table tennis, hosted at three venues: Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Indira Gandhi Stadium, and the Dr Karni Singh shooting range in New Delhi.

With over 1300 participants, including elite para-athletes such as gold medallist archer Harvinder Singh, club thrower Dharambir, and high jumper Praveen Kumar, the Khelo India Para Games 2025 marks the second national sporting event organized by the Sports Authority of India (SAI) this year, following the successful conclusion of the Khelo India Winter Games last week in Gulmarg, Jammu and Kashmir.
