Amieyra Khoslla, a 15-year-old speed climbing prodigy from India, etched her name in the record books at the IFSC World Youth Climbing Championships 2026 in Arco, Italy, clocking 7.60 seconds in the finals to finish sixth in the world and establish a new Indian National Youth Record in speed climbing on 28 July 2026. The performance marks one of the finest results ever delivered by an Indian athlete at the World Youth Championships.

Double Personal Best in a Single Championship

Khoslla's record-setting run was built across two stages of the competition. In the qualification round, she clocked 7.74 seconds, already surpassing her previous personal best. She then bettered that mark again in the finals with 7.60 seconds — an extraordinary feat of improving her personal best twice within a single championship.

'Representing India at the World Youth Climbing Championships has been one of the proudest moments of my life,' Khoslla said. India's Full Contingent at Arco

The Indian squad at the IFSC World Youth Climbing Championships 2026 comprised four athletes. Shlok Dadukar finished 27th with a timing of 6.76 seconds; Neil Warke secured 35th place, recording 7.33 seconds; and Rudra Karandikar finished 44th, clocking 8.47 seconds. Khoslla's sixth-place finish stood out as the standout result for the contingent.

An Athlete Built Across Disciplines

Khoslla's athletic profile extends well beyond the climbing wall. She won the silver medal in the 100 metres at the SGFI National School Games 2024 and finished 5th at the Junior National Athletics Championships 2025 in the 60 metres with a timing of 7.76 seconds. She holds a 100 metres personal best of 12.57 seconds, recorded at the National School Games 2025, and has been the Delhi State Champion in the 60 metres for three consecutive years — 2024, 2025, and 2026. This cross-disciplinary athleticism, combining sprint speed with technical climbing, appears central to her rapid ascent on the world stage.

With a national record already secured at 15, all eyes will be on how Khoslla progresses toward senior international competition in the years ahead.
