Visakhapatnam, March 30 (NationPress) KL Rahul is poised to debut for the Delhi Capitals as Sunrisers Hyderabad elected to bat first after winning the toss in Match 10 of IPL 2025 at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium this Sunday.
Following the toss, SRH's captain Pat Cummins announced that leg-spinner Zeeshan Ansari will be making his IPL debut, coming in for pacer Simarjeet Singh. SRH is eager to secure their second win of the season after a five-wicket loss to Lucknow Super Giants at home.
The visitors feature local talent Nitish Kumar Reddy, who is familiar with the venue's conditions. “The afternoon game tends to be warmer initially. We're aiming to set a substantial total. Last year, we managed to outscore the opposition, and we hope to replicate that today. We need to execute our strategy, but it won't always go as planned,” he commented.
Meanwhile, Rahul returns to the DC lineup after missing last week's thrilling one-wicket victory against the Lucknow Super Giants due to paternity leave. He replaces uncapped batter Sameer Rizvi and is positioned to bat at number four.
“I would have opted to bat first given that it's a noon match, and in the previous game, the ball was more challenging in the second innings. But it’s all part of the game; the toss is beyond our control. We’re familiar with this ground and have prepared accordingly while considering our opponents,” he added.
“Facing SRH requires bravery; we need to excel in the powerplay. Our bowling strategy in the powerplay should be as aggressive as in the death overs,” stated DC captain Axar Patel.
