Hyderabad, Oct 19 (NationPress) The Kochi Blue Spikers secured an inspiring victory with a score of 15-13, 9-15, 15-8, 15-13 against the Calicut Heroes during the Prime Volleyball League, held at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad on Sunday. Mouhsin Pa was awarded the Player of the Match.

Kochi kicked off the match strongly, with blocker Jasjodh Singh scoring the first point. A remarkable serve from Erin Varghese allowed Kochi to establish an early advantage, despite the persistent pressure from Calicut's Ashok Bishnoi.

Shameem's tactics disrupted Kochi's rhythm as Calicut's captain and setter Mohan Ukkrapandian maintained control in the center of the court. Even with Calicut's resilience, Hemanth's powerful spike secured the first set for Kochi.

Calicut began their counteroffensive with strategic plays from Shameem and Santhosh. Setter Moushin ensured Kochi had diverse attacking options, but Bishnoi's extensive coverage allowed the Heroes to equalize the match.

Kochi reintroduced block Amrinderpal Singh to counter Calicut's advances. However, Bishnoi skillfully found openings to score, leveling the game.

Jasjodh's ingenuity and Erin's relentless attacks kept Calicut under pressure. Although Calicut libero Mukesh showcased impressive defensive maneuvers, Amal's precision shots helped Kochi regain the lead.

Abdul Raheem spearheaded Calicut's fightback, attempting to push the game to a decisive fifth set. Nonetheless, Amal and Erin clinched two consecutive super points for Kochi, narrowing the gap in the fourth set. Hemanth's all-around performance put Calicut under pressure, leading the Spikers to an uplifting victory.
