Ranchi, March 22 (NationPress) The Maharashtra Women’s cricket team showcased an impressive all-round display to secure the title of the BCCI Women’s Under-23 One Day Trophy Elite 2025–26, triumphing over Karnataka by a substantial margin of 75 runs in the final match held in Ranchi.

After being asked to bat first, Maharashtra posted a challenging score of 286/8 in their 50 overs. The innings was masterfully led by Bhavika Ahire, who made a significant contribution with a stellar 109 runs off 100 balls. She received vital support from Ishwari Sawkar (61) and Ishwari Awasare (36), establishing a solid platform for the team.

In response, Karnataka was dismissed for 211 runs, thanks to the disciplined bowling of Maharashtra. Akshaya Jadhav was the standout bowler, achieving remarkable figures of 4/39 in 9 overs, while Isha Pathare (3/43) and Khushi Mulla (2/22) also played crucial roles in securing the victory.

For her exceptional performance, Bhavika Ahire was honored as both the Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament. This victory marks a significant achievement for Maharashtra Women, marking their third title in the ongoing season, further emphasizing their supremacy in the current BCCI domestic circuit.

Throughout the 2025–26 season, Maharashtra has emerged as one of the leading state associations in India, clinching three BCCI titles and finishing as runners-up three times. This remarkable performance sets a record as the highest achievement by any State Cricket Association in the country this season, demonstrating the depth, consistency, and excellence of Maharashtra cricket across all formats.

Moreover, this is the very first instance in which a women’s team from any state association in India has secured three titles within a single season. Maharashtra's outstanding performance throughout this season highlights the increasing strength, depth, and promising future of women’s cricket in the state.
