Mumbai's Young Sensation Ira Jadhav Hits Record 346 in U19 Women's 50-over Match

Alur (Andhra Pradesh), Jan 12 (NationPress) The 14-year-old Ira Jadhav from Mumbai made an incredible mark in cricket by scoring an unbeaten 346 runs off just 157 balls, featuring 42 fours and 16 sixes. This outstanding performance set the record for the highest individual score in the history of the Women's U-19 One Day Trophy.

Her remarkable innings took place against Meghalaya at the Alur Cricket Ground on Sunday, where she achieved a strike rate of 220.38.

With this feat, Jadhav surpassed the previous record held by Smriti Mandhana for the highest U19 score by an Indian, becoming the first Indian (male or female) to reach a triple century in any BCCI-organized limited-overs tournament.

This remarkable knock helped Mumbai secure a staggering 563/3 in their 50 overs, which is the highest score ever recorded by an Indian women’s domestic side across all tournaments and age groups.

The overall record for the highest individual score in a women's U-19 match is still held by South Africa's Lizelle Lee, who scored an unbeaten 427 runs for Mpumalanga against Kei in 2010.

Opening the innings, Jadhav played a crucial role in a 274-run partnership for the second wicket with captain Hurley Gala, who contributed 116 runs off 79 balls. Jadhav scored 149 runs off 71 balls during this partnership. She later formed an impressive 186-run partnership with Diksha Pawar, scoring 137 runs off just 50 balls. The bowlers from Meghalaya faced a tough challenge, with three of them conceding over 100 runs each.

In December, Jadhav was among the youngest players to enter the WPL 2025 auction pool, alongside Anshu Nagar, aged 13 and 14. Despite her immense talent, she went unsold in the mini-auction.

A student at Shardashram Vidyamandir International School—the same institution that produced cricket legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Vinod Kambli, and Ajit Agarkar—Jadhav was included as one of the standbys for India's U19 T20 World Cup squad set to compete in Malaysia.
