Earlier in the day, Abhinash Jamwal made a mark in the men’s 65kg category, triumphing over Rene Camacho of the USA with a unanimous decision, thereby advancing to the semifinals and ensuring a medal.
Unfortunately, Neeraj Phogat (65kg) and Anamika (51kg) saw their journeys conclude in the quarterfinals. Neeraj engaged in a closely contested match but lost 3:2 in a split decision.
