The home side started the match with great energy, taking a 2-0 lead within the first 13 minutes through goals from Edgar Mendez and Sunil Chhetri. However, Odisha FC managed to counterattack when Aleksandar Jovanovic received a red card, allowing Diego Mauricio to convert two consecutive penalties before Jerry Mawihmingthanga secured the winning goal in the second half.
Bengaluru FC quickly took control with a high-pressing strategy, scoring the first goal in the 10th minute when Mendez found the net after a brilliant long pass from Suresh Wangjam.
