Jabalpur, March 19 (NationPress) Students with special needs from the Army Women’s Welfare Association School in Jabalpur had the opportunity to connect with trained military horses, enhancing their confidence and fostering emotional resilience during a unique interaction and therapy session, as reported by a Defence Ministry official on Thursday.

Under the banner of ‘Healing through Connection, Strength through Compassion’, this specialized equine therapy session was organized at the 1 MP Remount & Veterinary Squadron NCC, focusing on the emotional and psychological development of these students, according to a statement from the Indian Army’s Central Command.

The children participated by feeding vegetables to the Army horses in the stables, while also observing various drills performed by the caretakers during this inclusive outing.

“The guided interactions with trained horses promoted confidence, sensory engagement, and emotional resilience, showcasing the therapeutic benefits of animal-assisted interventions. Such programs embody a forward-thinking approach to inclusivity, as organizations go beyond traditional roles to nurture holistic growth and mental wellness,” the official noted.

The Remount and Veterinary Corps, along with NCC units and partner organizations, are committed to fostering an inclusive and compassionate society, aligning with the principle of One Health, the statement added.

In related news, a high-ranking delegation of 31 officers from the Kenyan Joint Command and Staff College, led by Major General E.M. Kinuthia, visited the prestigious Shatrujeet Brigade.
