Lahore, Sep 8 (NationPress) — Prior to the T20I Tri-series, Pakistan is set to welcome Sri Lanka for a three-match ODI series at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium from November 11-15, as announced by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Monday. This ODI series will take place before the two teams compete in the T20I Tri-series scheduled from November 17-29, which includes Afghanistan as the third participant. This marks a historic moment as it will be Pakistan’s first-ever home T20I tri-series.
This series will represent Sri Lanka’s first bilateral ODI tour to Pakistan since 2019, when they played a three-match series that Sarfaraz Ahmed led to a 2-0 victory, following a washed-out match in Karachi. The last time Sri Lanka participated in Pakistan was during the 2023 Men's ODI Asia Cup, where they faced Afghanistan in Lahore.
The announcement of this ODI series against Sri Lanka follows an already busy home schedule for Pakistan, which includes two matches in the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27 against the reigning WTC champs, South Africa, in Lahore from October 12-16 and Rawalpindi from October 20-24.
After the Test series, Pakistan and South Africa will clash in three T20Is set to occur from October 28 to November 1, with the opening match in Rawalpindi and the remaining two in Lahore.
The tour will culminate in three ODIs at Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad from November 4-8. This will be the first ODI hosted at this ground in 17 years, with its last match held in April 2008, where Pakistan triumphed over Bangladesh by seven wickets.
