New Delhi, April 23 (NationPress) Sri Lanka has revealed its 17-member squad, which will be led by experienced all-rounder Chamari Athapaththu, for the forthcoming ODI tri-series against India and South Africa. This series is scheduled from April 27 to May 11 in Colombo.

Previously, Sri Lanka faced a challenging ODI series earlier this year, where they unfortunately experienced a 2-0 defeat in New Zealand. In preparation for the upcoming tri-series, Sri Lanka has implemented eight changes to their squad from that tour.

Notably, medium pacer Malki Madara has earned her first call-up to the ODI squad after an impressive debut in the T20I series in New Zealand, contributing significantly to Sri Lanka's only victory on the tour with remarkable figures of 3-14.

Players such as Vishmi Gunaratne, Nilakshi Silva, Hasini Perera, Piumi Wathsala, Dewmi Vihanga, Inoka Ranaweera, and Hansima Karunaratne are also making a return to the squad. Each participating team will compete in four matches within the tri-series, with the top two teams advancing to the final set for May 11.

This tri-series, hosted entirely at R Premadasa Stadium, will serve as crucial preparation for Sri Lanka, South Africa, and India ahead of the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup, which will be held in India.
