Lahore, April 30 (NationPress) The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially confirmed that Bangladesh will visit Pakistan in May to engage in a thrilling five-match T20I series. This exciting series is scheduled to take place in Faisalabad and Lahore from May 25 to June 3.
Initially planned as a three-ODI and three-T20I series under the Future Tours Programme (FTP), the itinerary has been revised to feature five T20Is.
The PCB stated, "The series, which is part of the Future Tour Programme (FTP), originally consisted of three ODIs and three T20Is. However, with the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup occurring next year, both boards have reached a mutual agreement to replace the ODIs with two additional T20Is."
The historic Iqbal Stadium, which has seen 24 Tests and 16 ODIs from 1978 to 2008, will witness the return of international cricket after a 17-year break. Its last international match was an ODI between Bangladesh and Pakistan in April 2008.
This venue, which successfully hosted the inaugural Champions One-Day Cup in September last year and the National T20 Cup last month, will kick off the series with the first and second T20Is on May 25 and 27, respectively.
The remaining three T20Is will take place at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, scheduled for May 30, June 1, and June 3.
The Bangladesh team is set to arrive on May 21 and will conduct training sessions at Iqbal Stadium from May 22 to 24.
