Lahore, Sep 7 (NationPress) Pakistan is set to host its inaugural T20I tri-series from November 17 to 29, featuring Afghanistan and Sri Lanka as the competing teams. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced that this tri-series aims to prepare the three teams ahead of the upcoming Men’s T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.
The series will kick off on November 17, with Pakistan taking on Afghanistan at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, marking Afghanistan's first T20I match on Pakistani soil. Previously, Afghanistan has played five ODIs in Pakistan, the latest against Australia during the ICC Champions Trophy in February.
On November 19, Sri Lanka will clash with Afghanistan in Rawalpindi, before the tournament shifts to Lahore. The remaining five T20Is, including the final on November 29, will take place at the Gaddafi Stadium.
“We are eager to welcome Sri Lanka and Afghanistan for this historic T20I tri-series. This event will not only serve as excellent preparation for next year’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, but also offer thrilling cricket for fans across various venues,” said a PCB spokesperson.
