Bengaluru, April 23 (NationPress) Captain Rajat Patidar of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has acknowledged that his team has struggled to perform well at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, their home venue this season, which has contributed to their disappointing outcomes in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.

The team, under Patidar's leadership, has shown remarkable form in the tournament and currently holds the third position, sharing 10 points with Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants. However, the challenges posed by Chinnaswamy Stadium have proven significant, with three of their losses occurring at home. They have yet to secure a victory at this venue this season.

Nonetheless, Patidar remains optimistic, stating that the unpredictable characteristics of the pitch should not serve as an excuse.

“We have not executed our game plan effectively in our home matches, and while the toss is a factor, it remains beyond my control. This venue's wickets are indeed tricky and unpredictable, but that will not be an excuse. We will strive to adapt to the prevailing conditions swiftly,” Patidar mentioned during the pre-match conference.

Interestingly, RCB has not had the chance to chase a target in front of their home supporters, remaining unbeaten when bowling first this season. “Losing the toss doesn't mean half the battle is lost, as it is out of our hands. When batting first, our focus is on performing to the best of our abilities given the circumstances. Thus, we aim to concentrate more on this aspect rather than the toss,” he added.

Despite their home setbacks, the team remains undefeated on away matches. Patidar revealed that their key to success lies in maintaining a present-focused mindset.

“For us, it’s paramount to stay in the present moment in this league where matches occur back-to-back. It's crucial to learn from past mistakes without dwelling on the matches we've lost at home. We concentrate on the current moment as much as possible, which is our priority. We always endeavor to perform at our best on any given day,” Patidar concluded.
