Bengaluru, April 19 (NationPress) Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batsman Tim David believes his team must establish a strategy for playing at their home ground - M. Chinnaswamy Stadium - after enduring their third consecutive defeat at this venue on Friday.

Punjab Kings triumphed over RCB by five wickets, ensuring RCB's winless streak at home continues in the IPL 2025 season. This marked RCB's 46th loss at this venue, the highest for any franchise in IPL history.

Following a shaky start due to rain interruptions, David managed to score a rapid half-century off 26 balls, which included five fours and three sixes, helping his team reach 95/9 in 14 overs.

In reply, the Punjab Kings rebounded from early challenges, with Nehal Wadhera remaining unbeaten at 33, featuring three sixes and three fours, guiding his team to a convincing win with 11 balls remaining.

"We have encountered varying conditions in every match we've played so far. Tonight's rain made it tough to predict how the pitch would perform. We haven’t excelled at home. We need to develop a strategy to secure a couple of victories. It's crucial for us to regroup quickly as we face Punjab again," David mentioned during the post-match presentation.

The Australian, who received the Player of the Match accolade, remarked on the challenging batting conditions but supported the management's choice to position him at No. 7.

"Batting on that surface wasn’t straightforward. I appreciate the boys who batted ahead of me for communicating about the conditions effectively. It allowed me to observe the pitch's behavior. Our practice pitches have been similar, and we’ve been trying to adapt our approach for these conditions. I trust our coaching staff's decisions on where I can make a significant impact," he said.

"If I get a chance to bat higher, I’ll aim to contribute to my team’s success. Sometimes, overexertion can hinder performance. In Bangalore, the challenge is often to build partnerships while managing risks during batting. Tonight was particularly tough in that regard," David added.

With eight points from seven matches, RCB currently occupies the fourth position in the points table and is set to face Punjab Kings again at the New PCA Stadium, New Chandigarh, this Sunday.
