Premier League: Merseyside Derby Delayed Due to Storm Darragh

Liverpool, Dec 7 (NationPress) The highly anticipated Merseyside Derby, featuring Everton and Liverpool at Goodison Park this Saturday, has been postponed due to Storm Darragh. The fixture will be rescheduled for a later date.
This decision comes in light of severe weather conditions and high winds that have caused significant travel disruptions across Merseyside.
"We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate the understanding of our supporters. While we recognize the disappointment for fans, the safety of our fans, staff, and players is our top priority.
"Details about the new date for the match will be shared soon. All tickets purchased for the initial match will still be valid for the rescheduled date," stated Everton on their official website.
Following a meeting of the Safety Advisory Group at Goodison Park, which included officials from both clubs, as well as representatives from Merseyside Police and Liverpool City Council, the decision was made to postpone the game due to safety concerns arising from strong wind gusts, coupled with an ongoing amber severe wind warning expected to last until Sunday.
"We understand the disappointment this news brings to our supporters, but the safety of our fans, staff, and players is of utmost importance. Information regarding a new date for the match, including ticketing details, will be announced soon," said Liverpool in their statement.
This match, set to occur at Goodison Park, marks the last Merseyside Derby at this historic venue, home to Everton since 1892, as they prepare to move to their new location at Bramley Moore Dock next season.
Liverpool is currently leading the Premier League table, with the potential to have their lead reduced to four points this weekend as Arsenal and Chelsea pursue the top position. Everton, sitting in 15th place, is set to face both London clubs in their next two matches.
