Pritish and Shambhavi Crowned Champions at the US Kids Golf Indian Championships

Gurugram, Dec 14 (NationPress) Pritish Karayat and Shambhavi Chaturvedi emerged as the overall champions during the fourth edition of the US Kids Golf Indian Championships at the Classic Golf and Country Club. The Indian contingent claimed the majority of group titles, with the only exceptions being Rohin Patel (Boys 8) and Rayan Patel (Boys 10), both from the United States.
In a competition largely controlled by local golfers, other notable international competitors included Shwaas Kurada from the US, who secured second place in Boys 12, and Woo Kay-Lin from Malaysia, who finished third in Girls 11-12, followed closely by Mahi Srivastava from Sweden in fourth place.
Pritish delivered the top performance of the week, shooting an impressive 6-under 66 on the opening day, maintaining his lead throughout the event and finishing with a total of 3-under 213, the best score among the 18-hole competitors, thus being named the overall champion, earning World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) points.
In the senior category, where WAGR points were at stake, Arshvant Srivastava struggled with two double bogeys and four bogeys against five birdies, finishing with a score of 75. In contrast, Pritish played consistently, recording his second under-par round in three days with four birdies and two bogeys for a score of 70, totaling 3-under 213. Arshvant ended with a score of 5-over 221.
Shambhavi Chaturvedi garnered WAGR points with a total of 16-over across three days in Girls 13-14, narrowly outpacing Ayesha Gupta, who triumphed in the Girls 15-18 category with a score of 17-over. The standout performer of the week was Nihal Cheema, who achieved three consecutive under-par rounds of 34-35-34 in the Boys 7 and under category, winning by a significant margin over his closest competitor Shabd Agarwwal.
American golfer Rayan Patel (9-over) staged a remarkable comeback, overcoming a four-shot deficit to win by one stroke against Jot Sarup Gupta (10-over) in Boys 10, showcasing a solid even-par performance on the back nine.
In the girls' categories, Ahana Shah displayed remarkable consistency, finishing with scores of 37-35-36 for an even-par total, placing her ahead of Naasyha S Sinha, who claimed the second position, displacing Aahana Srivastava from her place in the Girls 8 category. Naina Kapoor, who started the week with an impressive 2-under 70, achieved a significant win against Aanya Dandriyal in Girls 11-12, totaling 3-over. Kabir Goyal in Boys 9 also impressed with two solid rounds of 1-under 71, securing victory over Sahib Aujla in second and Divjot Gupta in third.
Siddhant Sharma, who led after two rounds, maintained his position to defeat a challenging Adit Veeramachaneni in Boys 11, while Smyaan Gupta held off Sohang Singh Kantor by a single shot to win in Boys 13-14.
Other notable winners included Vidit Aggarwal in Boys 12, Aaradhya Bhatnagar in Girls 9-10, and Ayesha in the Girls 15-18 category.
