Sneha, Rhea, and Durga Share Top Spot in WPGT Leg 1

Jamshedpur, January 8 (NationPress) Sneha Singh finds herself in a three-way tie for the lead alongside Rhea Purvi Saravanan and Durga Nittur after the initial round of the first leg of the 2025 season on the Women’s Pro Golf Tour (WPGT). Each player carded an even-par score of 72 at the Golmuri Golf Club on Wednesday.
Amandeep Drall and Jasmine Shekar trailed closely, finishing tied for fourth with a score of 73. Meanwhile, four players, including Lavanya Jadon making her professional debut, Neha Tripathi, Ananya Garg, and amateur Saanvi Somu, each recorded a score of 75, placing them in a tie for sixth.
Rhea, who teed off in the third group during the morning session, struggled initially at 3-over through 14 holes. However, she finished strongly with three birdies in the final four holes, sinking putts on the 15th, 17th, and 18th to emerge as the clubhouse leader with a score of 72.
Later, Sneha Singh, the previous year’s Hero Order of Merit victor, and Durga Nittur matched her score to share the lead. Sneha had a dynamic round with four birdies and four bogeys, while Durga recorded three birdies balanced by three bogeys.
Amandeep Drall began her day with a birdie but faltered with two bogeys on the back nine, finishing with a 73. Jasmine, who secured victories in two of her last three events in the 2024 season, had a round characterized by four birdies and five bogeys, also scoring 73.
Ananya Garg struggled early, registering no pars in her first seven holes, which included three birdies and four bogeys. She later added a double bogey on the 11th and a bogey on the 15th but concluded her round with a birdie. Lavanya, in her pro debut, faced challenges with three bogeys and no birdies.
Neha Tripathi, among the most seasoned players in the field, managed only one birdie against four bogeys, whereas amateur Saanvi Somu fell to 5-over before finishing strong with two birdies on her last two holes, totaling 75. Anvitha Narender rounded out the top 10 with a score of 76.
