Amandeep, Sneha, and Jasmine Take the Lead at the Inaugural 2025 WPGT Event

Jamshedpur, Jan 7 (NationPress) Amandeep Drall, the runner-up of the Women’s Pro Golf Tour Order of Merit 2024, is ready to take charge in the season's opening event as the WPGT arrives at the Golmuri Golf Course for the first time on Wednesday.

The new season kicks off in Jamshedpur with a lineup of 28 professionals competing for a total purse of Rs. 12 lakh, alongside two amateurs, Anaahat Bindra and Saanvi Somu. Notably, Saanvi has previously come very close to clinching a victory on the HPWGT, finishing as the runner-up in the ninth leg of 2024.

Amandeep and Sneha Singh, the champion of the 2023 HPWGT Order of Merit, who hold conditional status in Category 16 on the Ladies European Tour for 2025, are the primary contenders for this event. The 2024 Order of Merit champion, Hitaashee Bakshi, who also secured a spot on the LET, is opting out of the initial two legs.

Amandeep clinched one victory and secured two second-place finishes last season out of 14 starts, ending the year second on the Merit List. After missing significant opportunities to compete on the LET in 2024, she aims to gain essential tournament experience before heading to the LET this year. She is currently listed among the reserves for LET’s opening event in Morocco next month, along with Sneha Singh and Hitaashee Bakshi.

The lineup features a host of champions from the 2024 season, including Jasmine Shekar, who triumphed in two of the last three legs in 2024, along with Sneha Singh (Leg 2 and Leg 4), Anvitha Narender (Leg 8), and Amandeep Drall (Leg 5). Other noteworthy professionals to keep an eye on are Neha Tripathi, Seher Atwal, Shweta Mansingh, and Khushi Khanijau.

This inaugural event also witnesses two players making their professional debuts: Lavanya Jadon, who was the runner-up in the eighth leg last year during her amateur status, and Jia Kochhar.
