Kolkata, Jan 16 (NationPress) Sneha Singh achieved the best score of the day with a remarkable 2-under 68, putting her in the lead after the second round of the Women’s Pro Golf Tour (WPGT) 2025 held at the Tollygunge Club on Thursday. With a total of 71-68, Sneha, who clinched the Order of Merit in 2023, stands as the only competitor under par at 1-under 139, leading by one shot ahead of Vani Kapoor (68-72), the initial round leader.
Anvitha Narender, who celebrated her first professional victory last season, secured the third position with scores of 74-72. Jasmine Shekar (74-73) and Ravjot K. Dosanjh (72-75) are tied for fourth place at 3-over 147.
Sneha, who previously celebrated a victory at the Hero WPGT in February last year during the fourth leg, encountered an early bogey on the second hole. However, she quickly bounced back with birdies on both the third and eighth holes. Following additional birdies on the 11th and 15th holes, she reached 3-under before a dropped shot on the final hole brought her score to 68.
Vani experienced a challenging round, recording three birdies, three bogeys, and three pars on the front nine, followed by three bogeys on the back nine at the 10th, 12th, and 14th holes. A birdie on the 17th hole concluded her round at 2-over. Anvitha faced struggles early on with three bogeys in the first five holes but managed to recover with three birdies, though she also gave up two more bogeys, finishing with a 72.
Kriti Chowhan (75-73) landed in sixth place at 4-over 148, while Khushi Khanijau (73-77) followed in seventh at 6-over 150, and Anahita Singh (74-78) ended eighth at 8-over 152. Both Rhea Purvi Sarvanan (78-75) and Lavanya Jadon (76-77) tied for ninth.
Several prominent players continued to find it tough, with Vidhtari Urs (79-75) at T-11, and Neha Tripathi (81-75) improved but still tied for 14th, alongside Seher Atwal (77-79). Amandeep Drall (79-79) made the cut, which was set at 14-over 148, allowing 22 players to proceed to the final round.
